At a family member's suggestion, I called the school and found<BR>>>that they are in desperate need of school supplies, as the school has taken<BR>>>in many new kids from schools that were destroyed. The principal, Susan<BR>>>McRay (who also knew Elsie and her life "friend"...wink...wink.. Floramary).<BR>>>Ms. McRay was extremely excited to hear that there were people up north<BR>>>willing to donate school supplies. She also mentioned that they are<BR>>>desperate for school uniforms. Given our strong connection with education,<BR>>>this might be meaningful for many of our members.<BR>>>We are going to collect goods here at the Society and drive them down to<BR>>>Mobile on Monday September 19th. Here is a list of items that are being<BR>>>requested:<BR>>>K-5 school supplies--<BR>>> paper<BR>>> pencils (not the big ones, only the little)<BR>>> scissors<BR>>> markers<BR>>> backpacks<BR>>> erasers<BR>>> rulers<BR>>> writing pads<BR>>> ring binders<BR>>>and the usual stuff like that.<BR>>>Navy color pants<BR>>>Navy shorts<BR>>>Navy Jumpers<BR>>>Navy skirts<BR>>>Hunter Green or White shirts (Golf shirt with short sleeve and collar)<BR>>>Underwear<BR>>>Over the ankle - crew length socks<BR>>>White, Navy or Black tennis shoes - lace up only<BR>>>(khaki ok secondary)<BR>>>I can pick these up at your Society (within reason) and can also make stops<BR>>>in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, and No. Virginia.....Randy, we may<BR>>>even stop in North Carolina.<BR>>>Anyone interested in participating, please let me know.<BR>>>Thanks for allowing me my crazy passions,<BR>>>Curt<BR></DIV></body></html>
