<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 12pt;" lang="EN">A
confirmed secularist for most of his
life, Hugh Taft-Morales now calls Ethical Culture his religion.<span
style=""> </span>He does so, however, while simultaneously
advocating that Ethical Culture is more than a religion.<span style="">
</span>The genius of Felix Adler, founder of the
movement, was in placing ethical commitment to the worth of all people
above
any religious or philosophical characteristics.<span style="">
</span>While Ethical Culture has a humanist religious hearth that
offers warm
inspiration to many, those not “religiously minded” need not gather
round the
fire.<span style=""> </span>In ethical relationships and deed
– independent of any religious claim - is where Ethical Culture lives.<o:p>

style="font-size: 12pt;" lang="EN"><b>Hugh Taft-Morale</b>s is an
Ethical Culture Leaders in Training assigned to

w:st="on">Takoma Park</st1:City>, <st1:State w:st="on">Maryland</st1:State></st1:place>".<span
style=""> </span>He taught philosophy and history in high
school for twenty-five years, graduated from <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Yale</st1:PlaceName>
<st1:PlaceType w:st="on">College</st1:PlaceType> in 1979, earned a
Masters in
Philosophy in 1986 from <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">University</st1:PlaceType>
of <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Kent</st1:PlaceName> in <st1:country-region
w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">England</st1:place></st1:country-region>.
Hugh just received a
certificate in Humanist Leadership from the Humanist Institute in May
of 2009.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
